Serge Tchuruk joined Alcatel in 1995. From 1990 to
1995, he held the position of Chairman and CEO of
Total, one of the world's leading oil and gas companies.
From 1986 to 1990, Serge Tchuruk was Chairman and
CEO of Orkem (previously called CDF-Chimie), a European
chemical company involved in petrol and specialty
chemicals. From 1980 to 1986, Serge Tchuruk worked
in Rhône-Poulenc, the international chemical
and pharmaceutical company. He held various executive
positions in the basic chemicals division, before
becoming Managing Director of the company in 1983.
He started his career in the Mobil Corporation, where
he held various executive positions in France and
the USA from 1964 to 1979. His last appointment was
as CEO of Mobil Benelux.
Serge Tchuruk is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique
in Paris.
