Stéphane Treppoz graduated with highest honours
from HEC, France leading business School, in 1989.
He started his career at consulting firm Arthur Andersen.
He then joined the US operations of the French toy
manufacturer Meccano SA. where he successively held
the position of Marketing Director and Vice President.
After three years he was promoted President of Meccanos
US operations.
In 1995, he came back to Paris to manage the Internet
activities of the Vivendis Group, including
the launch of the cable broadband project Teleriviera
Multimedia.
He negotiated on behalf of Cegetel the Joint Venture
Agreement with AOL Inc., Bertelsmann and Canal + by
which Cegetel and Canal + gained control of AOL CompuServe
Frances operations.
In August 1998, he was appointed Managing Director
of AOL France.
