Kenneth KARLBERG was appointed President of
Telia Mobile AB in 1997. Before Mr Karlberg joined
the Telia Group 1987 he was an Officer in the Swedish
Army. He received his commission in 1976 when he graduated
from the Swedish Military Academy. Before entering
the post as President for Telia Mobile, Mr Karlberg
was Vice President and Head of Operations in Telia
Mobitel. He has also been in charge of Marketing and
Sales as well as Head of Human Resources within the
Telia Group. Mr Karlberg also received an MBA in 1993.
Mr Karlberg holds Board Assignments in different companies
such as Omnitel (chairman), Latvijas Mobilais Telefons;
LMT (chairman), Amber Mobile Teleholding AB (chairman),
Halebop (chairman), Telia Mobile Denmark (chairman),
Telia Mobile Finland (chairman) and NetCom ASA. He
is also a member of the Swedish IT Institute Committee
and Örebro Innovation Center.
Telia Mobile is part of the Telia Group, developing
and marketing mobile services in Sweden, Denmark,
Finland and in Norway via NetCom ASA, a subsidiary
to the Telia Group. Sales 2002 (Jan-June) totaled
MSEK 10,471. Telia Mobile is also responsible for
the Telia Group´s mobile assets in the Baltic
countries and Russia. The total number of subscribers
are 8,3 million Jan-June, 2002 (5,1 million in the
Nordic countries and 3,2 million in Russia and the
Baltic countries)
