Roland Montagne, is head of the broadband
division, in the Services and Network strategies
department. His main works and publications at IDATE
include the global market of the Internet, IP technology
and services markets and operator strategies in the
broadband networks subject. He is responsible for
the European broadband market study, which
is published annually by IDATE.
Before returning to IDATE, Roland Montagne
succeeded in several developments in the areas of
Numerical radio telecommunications and mobile services.
He worked for a year at AT&T as a studies engineer
in one of Bells laboratories (New Jersey, USA). He
drove the research on optical networks (DWDM) and
ATM technologies. He also worked for CNET (France
Telecom R&D) where he led the work on optical
communications. Roland Montagne is a telecommunications
engineer, with a degree from ENST (Ecole Supérieure
des Télécommunications), 1994 and has
a further studies degree in Electronics (D.E.A, University
of Paris 6, 1994)
