Robert Chu is currently responsible for IBM’s overall business for the telecom, media and utilities industries in France – Northwest Africa.
Prior to this position, Robert was Director of wireless e-business for Europe Middle-East and Africa.
Robert joined IBM in 1990 and was project manager for several enterprise networking projects in IBM Global Services. He then held various professional and management positions in the IBM Utilities and Telecommunications organizations in France.
As Global Wireless Telecom Executive in 2000-2001, Robert’s key areas of focus were the mobile operator’s 2.5G/3G data service delivery infrastructure, business models and partnership strategies for the operator’s enterprise offerings, future directions of wireless data services such as Web Services and convergence with the Media industry. Robert also represented IBM at the UMTS Forum.
As Director of Solutions in 2002-2004, Robert was based in IBM’s Headquarters in White Plains (USA) to design, develop and launch IBM’s wireless solutions for enterprises world-wide.
Robert has an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique (Paris, France) and a post-graduate engineering degree in Telecommunications from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Telecommunications (Paris, France).
