Yannick Lévy received his engineering degree from the Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité, Paris, France and a PhD from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN, USA, in error control coding. Upon his return to France, he joined the signal processing group of Sagem in Paris. Since then, he worked on several projects, including the design of professional digital equipment for TV broadcast and interactive modems, over cable and satellite TV distribution networks. As Project Leader for all headend equipment, including the network management systems, Dr. Lévy played an active role in the Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) and Digital Audio Visual Council (DAVIC), where he chaired the group dealing with the definition of interactivity over cable TV networks. He was editor of the ETS 300 800 specification, which was adopted by ETSI in September 1997. After several years at Sagem, he joined for a short stint Société Européenne des Satellites, where he developed in partnership with the European Space Agency a unified specification for a Satellite Interactive Terminal. At Atmel Corporation, he was manager of the design/marketing team created in Paris by himself and other engineers from Sagem, and produced a complete Digital QAM Receiver. After starting Dibcom in June 2000, Dr. Lévy is acting as President and Chief Executive Officer.
