TECHNOLOGICAL CONVERGENCE AND REGULATION

 

Mr. Brahima Sanou is the Head of the ITU Regional Office for Africa covering 43 Sub Saharan African
countries.
Before joining the ITU, Mr. Sanou worked for 17 years for ONATEL, the state-owned telecommunications company, where he held very high and key positions.
He has good experience of international telecommunication environment. He sat in the Board of Governor of INTELSAT as a Governor representing 15 African countries. He was Counselor representing Burkina Faso at the ITU Council for 9 years just before joining the ITU.
Mr. Sanou holds a Telecommunication Engineer Diploma from ESMT-PARIS and is post-graduated in Economics, Finance and Development projects management.
He is also the co-author of the first study on the impact of the WTO General Agreement on Trade in Services on the telecommunication sector in Africa.
